On A Personal Note...

Evenings in the Idol household are crazy.  By eight o'clock it looks like a tornado has gone through the house.  It is by far the most rewarding yet tiring part of the day.  Last night Sophia was doing her typical thing and I caught some of it on camera, she is AWESOME!!!!!!

What do your evenings look like?

Baptism Tank Magic and Oz's Mid-Drift...

So we just wrapped up a great weekend where we celebrated baptisms during our Sunday morning services.  It was our second baptism service in the new facility so things weren't quite set in production world to pull it off.  In addition to setting up the "bapti-cam" (more on that in a later post) we wanted to add an over-head mic in the tank to pick up the dialogue and dunking.  As you will see in the video we didn't choose the most opportune time to wire up the mic, enjoy...

New Stage Design

One of the things I love being a part of at Palm Valley is set designs.  I love the fact that we are constantly changing things up and always pushing the envelope.  So as we approached the end of the holiday season and the beginning of a new year our stage was ready for a face lift.

I knew working with the new stage was going to present quite a few challenges to work with.  So we got an early start and thanks to Jorge and Joe we were able to settle on a look and move forward.  Thanks to a hard working crew of volunteers and staff we were able to pull off a really great look to start of 2011.

Here is a few pics to show you the look:

Head over to www.joecavazos.com for more details on construction specifics, if your interested in that type of thing.  Im really thrilled with the look, I hope you like it as well.

Glorify God!

Ok so I just read this article, and it was exactly what I needed to read tonight.

It's been a crazy week, and crazy weeks usually lead to crazy emotions.  There have seemed to be a lot of extras in my life and at work the past month or so (theres never a "normal week" @ PVC), not bad extras just stuff out of the norm.  Stuff that makes a person think.

Getting to the point of the article... this weekend it was my honor to serve a family that lost a loved one.  A beautiful lady that had been battling cancer for 5 years.  I did not know her, I had seen her but never spoke with her.  It was my privilege to program her funeral service, to put together all the pictures the family had of her, to help make decisions on who would do and say what.  And from the onset it was obvious this women loved life, every picture-she was smiling, coming from a large family it was obvious she was the anchor, the wind in the sails.  She will be missed.  I just couldn't get away from this feeling that this women took advantage of every moment every opportunity and did not let life pass her by.

Reflecting on this the past couple days really got me stirred up, and that phrase in Driscoll's article:  "Everything in our life is an opportunity to praise God", WOW!  So simply but so true.  I am made to glorify God!  Not to drive a fancy car or have a nice yard.  But to Glorify God.  I had to confess, I get it wrong and I want to do it right.

As I look towards a new week, as i make decisions this week and react to situations I can either glorify God or not.  May I choose God!
