Sunday @ Palm Valley

So we are wrapping up "The Family Works" series at Palm Valley, and I have to say the thought of a family series seems somewhat light and fluffy but WOW from week to week the spiritual intensity level of the services has been amazing. Im not going to preach the series, you can go here for that. I do want to highlight this weekend though.

We had a short start to the week (Monday being Memorial Day), which added a bit of urgency to our typical Tuesday planning meeting. Rick had a HUGE vision for what he thought we could pull off for the service, so we bumped the scheduled afternoon meeting to the mid-morning and some lunch at El Zarape (ask Joe about how those tacos turned out).

Basically, it was baptism Sunday which is always a big deal and we wanted to integrate 4 different sketches into the message. The sketches weren't long, but finding actors and scheduling rehearsals usually takes longer than 4 days notice. Anyways, our church is full of amazing people that love to answer the call so by that evening we had actors set and scripts in hand.

The week was full of finalizing all the details for the service along with a knock-down drag out rehearsal Saturday morning. And setting here sunday evening after a HUGE day at Palm Valley I can say it was worth it all. The Actors were amazing, the message was relevant and anointed, the worship team rocked it, but most of all God's presence was there. In the midst of a crazy busy week I am so thankful I am surrounded with people that realize no matter hard you work, no matter how "cool" the production is, if God doesn't show up, if lives are not changed, it was just a show.

Thank You God for your presence, may we never grow comfortable with lights-camera-action, may we always place YOU first. Well that was my week, what about yours?
