Been Awhile?

So, this past weekend for me was pretty HUGE!  I was asked to kick-off a new series at PVC

Its been awhile since I took the stage in the "public speaking" capacity.  I get opportunities every now and again during New Community but the weekend is a whole different ball game.  First off, this weekend happened to be a record setting weekend... over 2800 people in attendance.  Just to put that in perspective, the town I grew up in had a population of just over 5000, INSANE!  Another thing, I'm sure most would agree but Rick leaves some pretty BIG shoes to fill, yeah a bit of an intimidation factor there.

With all that said, I had a blast!  It was kind of funny I had several people approach me and say, "I didn't even know if you still went to church here."  Im always backstage (its always hard to explain what I do) running things so when I come out of hiding it surprises some people that haven't seen me in a while.  Anyway I love the opportunity to share God's word, I take it very seriously and am honored that God can use me in that way.

What are some "hidden talents", skills, or gifts that resurface from time to time?  Things that you love to do, but don't do all the time?  Leave a comment, I'd love to hear feedback (more on that word in my next entry ;-) )

Peace, Love, and Harmony

Mitch

Rapping, I mean spoken word. I use to lead worship back in the day at my Dad's church but it's been a while that i've hold a mic in my hand. So last week when I got to do the rap part on the song SOLID ROCK at PVC i had to go back to that. Man it's a whole different world going from playing guitar to holding a mic.

2800 that is INSANE! And awesome. Mine is writing. More recently its been short devos here and there, but when I was young I wrote poems, plays, and stories. Someday I want to write a book :)

I'm sure you tore it up. I'll have to take a listen to it sometime here in the next week or so. I know for me, teaching on a Sunday morning at PVC ranks as #2 on my ministry "wow" list. #1 would be launching a brand new church. I'll see you Friday.

I know you did good, but I do have one question -- did you take a gallon of water up there with you, just in case you would get all choked up?
